Account Manager

The Account Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day account direction and communication for assigned SCS clients and agency teams. This role is designed to ensure SCS and SCS clients reach successful outcomes by proactively communicating and managing client and agency relationships at all levels. The account manager will represent the agency vision to client stakeholders, ensure teams are meeting deadlines and identifying opportunities for moving the client and agency’s businesses forward. Successful Account Managers have a passion for the client’s business, the work, results and most importantly, the drive to continue providing a valuable partnership.


Job Functions

  • Build and sustain relationships with clients and their internal teams for broader business picture and partnership
  • Get to know and stay informed about clients’ business models, growth plans and preferences
  • Drive thought leadership for clients and innovation at SCS
  • Identify new opportunities within existing accounts to bring forward with applicable agency teams
  • Act as client advocate and filter for SCS teams
  • Develop strong relationship with inter-departmental teams to maximize effectiveness for all client business
  • Accountable for project leveling and ensuring that all initiatives support the client’s brand and overall strategy; appropriately communicate this with Project Management team
  • Anticipate and resolve internal team and client issues as they are identified and utilize the support of the leadership team as needed
  • Vet and share project estimates/SOW documents with Supervisor and send to clients for signoff; lead on holding clients accountable, change ordering where necessary
  • Spearhead brief process with Client and SCS teams to ensure requirements are rolling up to the overarching strategy, clients and agency teams are aligned on deliverables and timing
  • Lead client meetings and advocate for polish and good work for all client deliverables
  • Onboarding of new clients, as applicable with the support of Supervisor and Project Manager


Required Experience, Education, Demonstrated Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) preferred
  • 4+ years of experience at a marketing agency or client-side marketing department
  • Proactive in client relationship management and demonstrated success in this area
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to pivot between multiple clients and projects
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with different people and work styles
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and proactively anticipate issues
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Digital marketing experience and familiarity with Google Analytics a plus
