Digital Media Planner / Associate Media Director

Position Summary:

The Digital Media Planner will have a deep understanding of the current and future digital media landscape. Someone who combines creative thinking and strong project management – while maintaining a keen focus on quality – to heighten consumer engagement across all target markets. The position is responsible for providing strategic planning support across all media channels while exhibiting a firm understanding of branding principles and ROI-driving tactics. The Digital Media Planner/Buyer exhibits a proven ability to plan, execute and analyze digital campaigns across display, mobile, social, paid search, rich media and video.

Job Functions:

  • Be a strong representative of SCS’s core business and culture values
  • An accountable effective communicator (email, phone, text, face-to-face) responsible of quick response times for both clients and internal teams to ensure all projects/campaigns are properly supported and managed with the expectations of a VP level agency executive
  • Understand agency capabilities across all departments in-order to bring added value to the client and ensuring integration of paid media efforts across other agency services (i.e. creative, digital, strategy/consulting, etc.)
  • Develop and foster senior client relationships at the Brand Director, Marketing Director, and VP Marketing levels
  • Lead, manage, and drive at reaching Media team OKRs for the agency: 1. Accountability in operational efficiencies and campaign management; 2. Communication across departments and transparency and speed of reporting to clients; 3. Innovation in media strategy and operations for clients with an emphasis on technology, partnerships, and results measurement – update OKRs annually and manage success quarterly with the Media Team and Management Team
  • Source and manage media vendors across all channels ensuring transparency, brand safety, and best practices are expected and assured from all partners
  • Ability to work independently while also supporting agency colleagues and Media team members
  • Work flexibly to meet project deadlines and manage team resources, internally and externally, to ensure client deadlines are met
  • Initiate creative and innovative uses of digital media relevant to Client’s business (Display, video, native, mobile, social, etc)
  • Maintain media plan(s) including changes, budgeting, reporting and optimization
  • Develop buy specs and reconcile budgets
  • Create and update digital flowcharts
  • Craft post-campaign reports & decks
  • Develop and foster strong and effective relationships with various media partners
  • Stay apprised of industry standard and new media programs
  • Evaluate media opportunities and provide solid and actionable POVs
  • Investigate and utilize information from syndicated research sources
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
  • Inform internal team members about opportunities, challenges and marketplace/technology developments
  • Become an expert user for various media technology platforms (DCM, GA, GTM, AQUA)
  • Solid understanding of online media planning, implementation and optimization
  • Understanding of digital media metrics and cost models – CPM, CPC, CPA, CPV
  • Knowledge of planning, buying, optimizing display campaigns across programmatic, remarketing, publisher direct, native, ad network, mobile and other digital platforms.
  • Ability to analyze web metrics efficiently and provide campaign effectiveness reports to clients
  • Analytical aptitude to gather and interpret reporting metrics from various sites
  • Strong understanding of Digital Media Math and media planning principles
  • Proficient knowledge of ad serving [DCM], conversion tracking [GTM, pixel placement], and ideas around attribution models
  • Ability to see things from all points of view, not just the Media Buying point of view – this includes billing, finance, account management, creative, tech, and executive management
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to problems in relation to tactical and strategic budgeting
  • Understand brands, business objectives, and how to apply research, best practices, tech/platform knowledge, digital media math, to create cross device, innovative strategies to drive outstanding results



  • Bachelor’s degree required


  • Minimum 3 years experience in agency-side Media strategy, planning, and buying
  • Experience working in media strategy and planning
