Senior Account Manager

Job purpose

The Senior Account Manager is responsible for strategic leadership and direction for SCS’ clients and agency teams. This role requires a passion for the client’s business, the work, results and most importantly, the drive to continue providing a valuable partnership. Successful Senior Account Managers manage relationships at all levels, represent the agency vision to key stakeholders, and continuously work to identify opportunities for moving the client and agency business forward.


Duties and responsibilities

Client/Relationship Manager & Strategy

  • Build and sustain relationships with clients and their internal teams for broader business picture
  • Get to know and stay informed about clients’ business models, growth plans and preferences; provide value in client meetings
  • Accountable for project leveling and ensuring that all initiatives support the client’s brand and overall strategy; appropriately communicate this with Engagement Management team
  • Advocate on behalf of the client and act as a trusted partner
  • Understand client needs and translate to the Strategist, media and Implementation teams for timely, on-brief execution
  • Anticipate and resolve internal team and client issues as they are identified and utilize the support of the leadership team as needed
  • Vet and share implementation team’s estimates to client for signoff, and manage against applicable SOW documents
  • Spearhead brief process with Client, Strategist and Implementation team to ensure requirements are rolling up to the overarching strategy, clients and agency teams are aligned on deliverables and timing
  • Advocate for polish and good work for all client deliverables and meetings
  • Proactively address concerns or flags for clients to navigate potential issues
  • Ensure Project Managers schedule meetings and share agendas in a timely manner, both with clients and internally
  • Onboarding of assigned, new clients, as applicable with the support of Project Manager and Sales
  • Advocate for ongoing thought leadership for client’s business and prompt agency teams to deliver on this

Revenue Generation

  • Grow revenue within existing accounts by identifying new opportunities within existing accounts and push this forward with applicable agency teams
  • Work with Project Management to ensure that revenue generated is profitable ad client expectations are managed
  • Lead on holding clients accountable, change ordering where necessary
  • Escalate to Manager if we are not going to be profitable

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) preferred
  • 5+ years of experience at a marketing agency or client-side marketing department (agency experience a plus)
  • Proactive in client relationship management and demonstrated success in this area
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to pivot between multiple clients and projects, working efficiently under pressure with meticulous attention to detail and creatively problem-solve
  • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with different people and work styles
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and proactively anticipate issues
  • Digital marketing experience and familiarity with Google Analytics a plus
