In 1972, the craze around new alloy wheels had vehicle lovers looking for some way to make them shine. Along came Mothers®, with the 4 oz. can of Mag & Aluminum Polish that transformed dull aluminum finishes into brilliant chrome-like jewels. Today, Mothers®, offers over 150 unique products that bring out the best of every inch of a vehicle for owners and professionals alike. With decades of experience building a passionate customer base, Mothers®, sought to build deeper relationships online as they spent more time with digital channels.

Mothers®

A rich online presence has become table stakes for brand communications. According to the eCommerce Foundation, 88% of consumers pre-research their buys before making a purchase at retail or online. With an older website and minimalist shopping experience on Amazon, Mothers®, tasked SCS with revitalizing these digital platforms to improve the customer journey, increase the opportunity to discover more about the brand and product lines, and offer purchase convenience options while continuing to prioritize and support their retail partners.

Collaborating with SCS’s longest-standing client, SCS made it simple to find the best possible product with two parallel product navigation paths built on the Shopify platform, one for product lines, and one for vehicle care use cases, alongside a retailer locator to help customers find a nearby store. Rich content is provided around how to best approach vehicle care and use Mothers®, products, with instructional videos and connections to the Autopia community for Q&A. The site also helps fans connect with Mothers®, shared automotive passion with content around the brand’s motorsports involvement.

NAVIGATING THE JUNGLE OF AMAZON

With consumers continuously spending more through Amazon every year, reflected in their regular double-digit growth, the channel is becoming increasingly important for brands to build customer relationships and drive revenue. SCS designed a brand-focused storefront on the platform that provided a more cohesive experience and reflected the dual-navigation path of the website, presenting products by product line and use case in separate layouts, making it easier for customers to find what they need.
