TWO AGENCIES ARE BETTER THAN ONE: MEDIAPOST ON THE SCS X SWARM MERGE
SCS is proud to announce our merger with Swarm, a results-driven agency in Atlanta who utilizes industry-leading analytics to support digital performance marketing. Swarm added expertise in e-commerce, digital performance media, retail, consumer products, home services, and B2B. Together as SCS, the new union will include 100 people across three offices – Atlanta, Southern California, and Ottawa (Canada) – and offer an integrated digital, media, creative and marketing consultancy designed as a modern, agile-solution at scale for national and international brand management. “Marketing today, and especially with the rise of e-commerce during the Pandemic, requires a deep level of creativity, data and technology,” CEO James Schiefer told MediaPost. “We were attracted to Swarm because of its founders’ commitment to employees and clients as well as its strength in digital, media and DTC focus, designing compelling campaigns and communications across a variety of brands and to a variety of consumers.”
The resurgence of COVID-19 cases has consumers homebound with a whole metaverse now at their fingertips. For brands to keep their customer base engaged and entertained, the metaverse is the new marketing strategy everyone is talking about. With Fortnite experiencing record-breaking viewership with virtual-based concerts for their users, and advertisers seeing new outreach opportunities, ad agencies are gearing up to take on a whole new technological breakthrough. Downloaded over 2.3 million times, "FarmCraft" was created in a joint venture between SCS and Blockworks to create a virtual world within the uniquely blocky building platform "Minecraft" for farming and lawn care brand John Deere. President of SCS Jeff Roach explains the strategy behind the endeavor, "We've been tracking the use of synthetic experiences by brands over the last couple of years, and through the pandemic, it increased as a replacement for physical experiences. With video games at the center of youth culture, it's become a critical pop-culture connection."

This month, SCS rounds up articles that will have you up-to date on recent advertising trends and news that brands are jumping in on. Companies such as Walmart are expanding their higher-margin businesses like advertising, data monetization, and e-commerce platforms to attract mass markets. Brands are realizing that investing in your business includes investing in others. This realization has brands such as Afterpay and Square pairing up for a seamless customer experience. It's these types of efforts that result in improved ad performance and exposure.
ORANGE COUNTY BUSINESS JOURNAL: FOUNDER & CEO JAMES SCHIEFER ON THE SWARM MERGE
“I think from my perspective, with everything in the last couple of years, including the pandemic, there's been a lot of change in consumer behavior and even in just media consumption. We're now talking to doctors over the phone, and ordering food that shows up at our doorstep. So for us, as an agency, we want to continue to innovate and push in the digital world.” Founder and CEO James Schiefer told the Orange County Business Journal. "SCS is striving to become one of the largest independent advertising agencies in Orange County, and the recent merge with Swarm is helping us go beyond those expectations."
