Position Summary

An SCS copywriter possesses a passion for great concept, great design, and great craft. They see the big picture and the fine details at the same time while developing concepts that exceed the brief and the expectations. They work with a team of designers, art directors, strategists and video content producers helping develop brand communications across all omni-channel forms of marketing including commercials, outdoor, radio, interactive and online advertising, social marketing, branded content, activations, and whatever else their fearless thinking brings to the table

Job Functions

  • Hands on development of concepts for client projects and omni-channel campaigns with a strong desire to get results
  • Clearly understand the client’s business challenges and goals, and shepherd and craft the best in class creative product from start to finish on time, on budget, on brand and strategy
  • Provide guidance and inspiration for creative partners
  • Quality control of your own work, and that of others
  • Draw from your experience and understanding of the entire creative process to pursue and promote great copy and messaging
  • Study the creative marketplace, assessing where the agency’s and client’s work stands against competitors
  • Shepherd and craft your creative product from start to finish
  • Provide guidance and inspiration for creative partners
  • Partner with the art director, creative director and content teams to create holistic campaigns
  • QC all your work before it leaves the shop
  • Develop presentation decks, rationale for easily communicating concepts
  • Client contact and management as needed
  • Be a complete team player
  • Other related duties to meet the needs of the agency or client as requested



  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or relevant discipline


  • Relevant portfolio of spec or actual work that indicates thinking process, craft, creativity and range of tone and understanding


  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in marketing, communication, or other related discipline
  • 3-5 years’ copywriting experience


  • High organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • A good working knowledge in video and audio production
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure with meticulous attention to detail
  • A solid working knowledge of the latest versions of applicable programs — Mac OS, Windows Office, Mac Office, Keynote, etc. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • The ability to understand and work toward client goals
  • Well-developed communication skills, including ability to socialize ideas to clients and other team members, as well as present and sell clients in on concepts and executions
  • Be a complete team player in an ego free environment
